Keith will discuss themes he has researched and explored in two recent talks on intuition and artificial intelligence.

At the individual psychological level, intuition manifests as two distinct modes of creativity: one, Ne (Extraverted iNtuition), which AI seems able to imitate, and another, Ni (Introverted iNtuition), that may be permanently beyond its grasp.

At the macro level, a similar dynamic shapes scientific progress. AI, specifically AlphaFold, appears to be an able assistant at what Thomas Kuhn termed "normal science," but remains incapable of triggering true "revolutionary science."

Along the way, Keith will share insights from his own journey as an analysand working with John Beebe, exploring how he has begun to experience, albeit intermittently and somewhat unpredictably, his own introverted intuition.

Program Takeaways

• Deepening your understanding of the difference between Ne and Ni.

• Exploring how Ne and Ni manifest within the archetypes in the Beebe model.
